For Large Commercial & Industrial

The right energy efficiency measures can make any size business more productive, efficient and competitive. Here are some of the programs available to large C&I through the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund. As described under each program, eligibility may depend on whether your electric distribution utility is Connecticut Light & Power (CL&P) or The United Illuminating Company (UI).

Energy Conscious Construction/Energy Blueprint

For customers planning new buildings, remodeling or large renovation projects, this program can reduce capital and operating costs by helping evaluate energy–saving upgrades during the early planning stages.

Express Services

Through rebates, customers are encouraged to retrofit older lighting and replace motors and heating/cooling equipment with newer equipment that provides the same—or sometimes better—lighting and comfort while lowering energy use. The rebates are fixed amounts, provided on a per–unit basis. They are paid directly to customers after they install pre–designated measures using qualified, licensed contractors.

PRIME

For commercial & industrial customers with an average monthly peak demand of 350 kW to 1500 kW, CL&P offers the PRIME Audit, which provides an initial, no–cost, facility walk–through assessment with a comprehensive productivity audit, and, if necessary, a Focused Study.

Custom Services

For electrical and HVAC needs, (CL&P) can identify specific needs and provide custom solutions – all at a substantial savings to you. Starting with a detailed Focused Study of your equipment and demand, (CL&P) can arrange for technical assistance and provide cash incentives to upgrade the efficiency of equipment. One–half of the study costs will be paid up front by (CL&P), and the customer’s 50 percent (50%) share will be refunded following the installation of the recommended energy–saving measures.

Energy Opportunities

This program can reduce operating costs and improve the energy efficiency of your existing facility. By retrofitting your lighting, heating, air conditioning, ventilation and process systems with the most energy–efficient equipment possible, we’ll help you replace inefficient equipment, upgrade your facility’s overall performance and improve energy management practices.

O&M RFP

CL&P, as manager of the Conservation and Load Management Fund, is soliciting proposals from any qualified party for electrical energy efficiency projects to be implemented at CL&P electric distribution customer facilities statewide in CL&P’s service territory.

Renewable Resources

This program, authorized by the DPUC offers incentives toward the implementation of renewable resource technologies. The incentives will be offered through the UI’s Energy Blueprint (EB) program. The eligible technologies must emit zero pollutants and consume no natural resources such as photovoltaic systems and wind generation systems
